In a commercial insectray, it is a common practice to store the host materials and the natural enemies in cold condition in order to delay the development or postpone the field releases at later days without affecting their biological potential. In similar lines, an experiment was conducted wherein the pupa of tachinid uzi fly, Exorista bombycis and its parasitoid, Trichomalopsis uziae were stored in refrigerator so as to know how long the host and the parasitoid could be cold stored without affecting the reproductive potential of the parasitoid. The results of the study revealed that the host pupa should not be refrigerated in excess of 9 days which lead to substantial decline in the reproductive efficiency of the parasitoid. Similarly, the parasitoid female should not be refrigerated in excess of 3 days which resulted in noticeable reduction in its reproductive performance.
