In the present study, we have prepared the extracts of four selected medicinal plants from Nandurbar district of Maharashtra. The extracts were tested for potential antibacterial activity against Gram-positive (Bacillus subtilis and Bacillus cereus) and Gram-negative (E. coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa) bacterial strains and showed high antibacterial potential for the tested bacterial strains. Further, extracts were also tested for their antifungal activity against common pathogenic fungi, viz.: Fusarium solani, Fusarium oxysporum and Penicillium citrinum and showed excellent antifungal properties. Based on the results obtained in the current study, we may treat these extracts as potential candidates for the development of pharmacological antimicrobial agents.
