Artificial Intelligence is becoming a core enterprise capability embedded across business processes, enterprise applications, analytics, automation, customer engagement, and operational decision-making. This paper proposes a SAP Business AI Reference Architecture that provides a structured enterprise model for designing, integrating, governing, securing, deploying, and operating AI-enabled capabilities across SAP Business Technology Platform and the broader SAP application ecosystem. The architecture integrates SAP Business AI, SAP AI Foundation, SAP Joule, SAP Business Data Cloud, SAP Datasphere, SAP HANA Cloud, SAP Integration Suite, SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP Build, SAP Cloud Identity Services, SAP Cloud ALM, and enterprise applications into a unified intelligent enterprise framework. It organizes SAP Business AI into interconnected layers covering business strategy, applications, trusted enterprise data, artificial intelligence services, semantic knowledge, integration, automation, security, governance, platform engineering, observability, and business value realization. The framework supports machine learning, Generative AI, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, intelligent assistants, AI agents, predictive analytics, intelligent automation, and enterprise decision support while emphasizing Responsible AI, Zero Trust security, clean core principles, lifecycle governance, human oversight, explainability, observability, and measurable business outcomes.
