Background: Degenerative spine disorders are a leading cause of chronic musculoskeletal disability. Ayurveda conceptualizes these conditions predominantly as Asthi–Majja Dhatu Kshaya with Vata Dosha Prakopa, resulting from aging, lifestyle factors, and impaired tissue nourishment. Aim: To critically evaluate degenerative spine disorders through an Ayurvedic Samprapti-based framework with clinical correlation. Materials and Methods: A conceptual and analytical review of classical Ayurvedic texts including Charaka Samhita, Sushruta Samhita, and Ashtanga Hridaya was undertaken. Ayurvedic principles of Dosha–Dhatu–Srotas, Samprapti, and Chikitsa were analyzed and correlated with contemporary understanding of spinal degeneration. Results: Degenerative spine disorders can be systematically explained as Asthi–Majja Dhatu Kshaya caused by Vata Prakopa, Dhatvagni Mandya, Srotodushti, and Khavaigunya localized in the spinal region. The Ayurvedic Samprapti closely parallels modern descriptions of disc degeneration, osteophyte formation, and neuromuscular involvement. Conclusion: A Samprapti-based Ayurvedic evaluation provides a comprehensive and holistic understanding of degenerative spine disorders and offers a rational basis for management through Basti, Rasayana, and Vatahara therapies.
