This paper explores the transformative role of newspapers in colonial India, focusing on how language shaped political mobilization, social reform, and national identity. By analysing vernacular and English-language press, the study highlights linguistic strategies such as slogans, satire, moral appeals, and persuasive editorials. Newspapers bridged the gap between leaders and masses, navigated censorship laws, and contributed to both political resistance and civic education.
