Title

Role of Brahma Kumaris Rajyoga Meditation in Reducing Stress, Anxiety, and Depression among Women: A Review

Abstract

Women may experience psychological stress due to multiple personal, social, family, and occupational responsibilities, which may contribute to anxiety, depressive symptoms, and reduced psychological well-being. Brahma Kumaris Rajyoga Meditation is a contemplative practice that emphasizes meditation, self-awareness, positive thinking, and the development of a peaceful and stable state of mind. The present review examines the role of Brahma Kumaris Rajyoga Meditation in reducing stress, anxiety, and depression among women. Relevant empirical studies, review articles, and scholarly literature were examined to identify evidence concerning the psychological benefits of Rajyoga meditation. The reviewed literature suggests that regular Rajyoga practice may contribute to reduced perceived stress and anxiety and may support improved emotional balance and psychological well-being. Some studies also indicate potential benefits for depressive symptoms, although the available evidence is less consistent and varies according to study design, intervention duration, and participant characteristics. Rajyoga may influence these outcomes through relaxation, self-awareness, cognitive reframing, emotional regulation, and positive thought patterns. However, further well-designed randomized and longitudinal studies are needed to establish its long-term effectiveness among diverse groups of women. Overall, Brahma Kumaris Rajyoga Meditation appears to be a promising complementary approach for supporting women's psychological well-being and managing stress, anxiety, and depressive symptoms.
