Title

Design of a Secure Cross-Protocol Authentication and Key Agreement Framework for 5G/6G and Wi-Fi 6/7 Coexistence Networks

Abstract

The rapid convergence of wireless technologies, particularly 5G/6G cellular systems and Wi-Fi 6/7 networks, has created new challenges for ensuring secure, efficient, and uninterrupted communication in multi-protocol environments. This paper provides a secure, comprehensive framework for cross-protocol authentication and key agreement that also supports coexistence networks operating in both licensed and unlicensed spectrum bands. Security systems are essential for protection. They have often been upgraded with improved features in recent years. Modern security setups like 5G Authentication and Key Agreement (5G-AKA) and WPA3 work differently and do not resolve interoperability issues. The document depicts various separate trust models. Because the same verification techniques are repeated, they may increase the risk of a cyber-attack. The conceptual framework of the single authentication model presented here can enable trust transfer between different networks while greatly reducing delay and load. The article also discusses AI-based security capabilities such as AI-powered key agreement, responsive threat detection, and smart cohabitation management. Machine learning and deep learning are highly influential in these fields. They primarily enable earlier anomaly detection, prediction of protection actions, and resource sharing. By contrast, the proposed approach blends cryptography with the physical layer. This combination protects against typical cyberattacks such as man-in-the-middle, replay, and spoofing. In addition, it implements edge and fog computing, as well as IoT setups, to achieve both scalability and low latency in ultra-dense networks. The company also improves energy efficiency by using green energy and clean security techniques that are either fully or partially aligned with environmental protection goals in the communications sector. Although the model concept is original, it has not been demonstrated through practical examples to prove its capability. In a nutshell, this research provides a reliable platform for advancing technology that is not only innovative and secure but also environmentally responsible in future cohabitation networks.
