Title

An Intelligent Machine Learning Framework for Early Disease Prediction and Risk Assessment in Healthcare

Abstract

Early identification of diseases is an essential component of modern healthcare, as timely diagnosis and appropriate risk assessment can improve clinical outcomes. Conventional disease diagnosis often relies on clinical expertise, laboratory investigations, and the interpretation of multiple patient-related parameters, which can be time-consuming and difficult to scale. The increasing availability of electronic health records and clinical datasets provides opportunities for machine learning (ML) techniques to support automated and data-driven disease prediction. This paper proposes an intelligent ML framework for early disease prediction and risk assessment in healthcare. The proposed framework integrates data preprocessing, feature selection, classification, and risk assessment to identify meaningful disease patterns from patient health information. Multiple ML algorithms are evaluated using performance measures such as accuracy, precision, recall, F1-score, specificity, and ROC-AUC to identify the most suitable predictive model. The framework generates disease predictions along with probability-based risk assessment, providing a more informative representation of patient health status. Furthermore, explainable ML techniques can identify important features influencing predictions, thereby improving transparency and supporting healthcare professionals in decision-making. The proposed approach provides a scalable foundation for preventive healthcare, personalized risk assessment, early intervention, and intelligent clinical decision support.
