Terrain-adaptive multi-level urban construction is a sustainable approach to development in hilly regions that follows the natural contours of the land. Conventional cutting and filling can cause slope instability, drainage problems and damage during monsoons and earthquakes. This seminar studies slope stability, site investigation, foundations, retaining walls, structural safety and drainage systems. The methodology includes research papers, Indian Standards, government guidelines, case studies and the preparation of a scaled physical model. The study highlights the importance of proper drainage, limited cutting and filling, stable foundations and earthquake-resistant construction. This approach promotes safer, sustainable and efficient urban development in hilly areas while reducing long-term risks.
