Title

A Comparative Study of Mental Health and Psychological Well-Being among Indoor and Outdoor Sports Participants

Abstract

Abstract Mental health is an important component of overall well-being and plays a significant role in sports participation and performance. Indoor and outdoor sports provide opportunities for physical exercise, social interaction, stress management, and psychological development. However, the environmental conditions, physical demands, and social experiences associated with these sports may influence participants differently. The present article aims to examine the comparative relationship between participation in indoor and outdoor sports and various dimensions of mental health, including anxiety, stress, emotional stability, self-confidence, and psychological well-being. A comparative research design based on relevant literature and a proposed empirical methodology is presented. Indoor sports may offer structured environments and controlled playing conditions, whereas outdoor sports may provide additional psychological benefits through exposure to natural environments. Nevertheless, the mental health outcomes of both categories depend on the type of sport, frequency of participation, individual characteristics, and quality of the sporting environment. The article emphasizes the importance of promoting both indoor and outdoor sports as part of a comprehensive strategy for psychological well-being.
