Title

Black feminism in Toni Morrison’s The Bluest eye

Abstract

This thesis is a study of black feminism in the novel bluest eye by Toni Morrison and portrays that novel’s qualities as black arts literature. The black arts, or black aesthetic, call for literary expression that has an African- American point of view. It addresses the major concerns of the black. The purpose of this paper is to analyze how the concepts of identity, race and gender are portrayed in the novel, and how they relate to issues of whit beauty and self loathing, racial pride. Toni Morrison is one of major writer of black literature and her themes include liberty to black people, black feminism. She dealt with the life of young girl called Pecola and she includes many themes in her play; black existentialism also on the major theme in this novel. It dealt with the freedom of black people. Toni Morrison faces the truth about the intersection of race and gender by exploring in her novel how racism and sexism function, as well as the devastating consequences that can occur. This mainly focuses on the character of Pecola that how she suffered from the color in the society.
