Title

BIOSYNTHESIS OF SILVERNANOPARTICLES USING ACALYPHA FRUTICOSA FORSSK. LEAF EXTRACTS AND ITS ANTIBACTERIAL ACTIVITY

Abstract

The nanoparticle was used in different fields of scientific research.In the present study, biosynthesis of silver nanoparticles and its antibacterial activity were investigated. Silver nanoparticles were synthesized using leaf extract of Acalypha fruticosa Forssk and the formation of nanoparticles was observed by colour change from light yellow to dark brown.The results recorded fromUV–visible spectrum, Fourier transform-infra red spectroscopy (FT-IR) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) support the biosynthesis and characterization of silver nanoparticles. Further, Antimicrobial activity of Acalypha fruticosa was studied using bacterial strains like Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli and Klebsiellasp.The antibacterial activity of synthesized silver nanoparticles showed effective inhibitory activity against Escherichia coli and Bacillus subtilis.
