The term Postmodernism encompasses a wide range of developments in art, architecture, literature, culture, film, and philosophy. There are no exact truths in this postmodern world; only relative truths of each person or character should be accepted. It disagrees the occurrence of any existing philosophy, which will explain everything for everybody. In Postmodernism understanding and exposition is everything, saying that reality only comes into being through our explanation of what the world means to us individually. A wide range of concepts and ideas that include factors as responses to modernism and its ideas related to technological advances and greater diversity of cultures comes under the postmodern literature. White Noise by DeLillo is considered to be a postmodern text. He is widely regarded by modern critics to be one of the prominent figures of literary postmodernism. Many of his books satirize academia and explore postmodern themes of consumerism, intellectualism, the disintegration and reintegration of the family, and violence. Another important theme in many of his books is the role of media.
