Caribbean women writers transform Caribbean space in their literature. Paule Marshall, an Afro-Caribbean /African -American writer, in her novels, describes the experience of migration from the Caribbean to New York City, especially Brooklyn. Marshall describes first and second generation women migrants and the emergence of new identities in migration. Thus the generations of Caribbeans migrate to North America, South America, Europe, and throughout the Caribbean. They carry an identity which is changed by the experience of migration.
