V.S. Naipaul is regarded as one of the eminent novelists in Commonwealth literature. Commonwealth literature developed recently. The word ‘Commonwealth literature’ are literary works written in English or translations in English from the writer’s native tongue. V.S. Naipaul migrated from his native Trinidad and later settled in England. As an immigrant British Writer, he sees himself as a person displaced from his native land. After he settled in England, he starts writing successful novels. One of his personal fictional works is A House for Mr. Biswas. It is a successful work which deals with the theme of isolation, frustration and negation in a colonized society and focuses on cultural issues. The present paper analyses the story of Mr. Biswas from birth to death. The Protaganist Mr. Biswas wants to overcome all his sufferings in an alien land because he feels insecure in a new land.
