Manju Kapur is an emerging writer in Indian English literature. She proves her efficiency in her debut novel Difficult Daughters which was published in the year of 1998. Her second novel Married Women was published in 2002. Home is the best example of a family novel. It was published in 2006 and her latest novel was The Immigrant published in 2008. She has evolved into a sensitive novelist on Indian society. The novel The Immigrant was totally different from the past novels. Those novels are set in the period of Indra Gandhi’s Emergency period.
