VIBRATION ANALYSIS OF SINGLE CYLINDER DIESEL ENGINE
Abstract
This paper reflects general information about internal combustion (IC) engine, FFT and vibration measurement of single cylinder water cooled diesel engine. This compression ignition (CI) engine is a type of internal combustion engine which converts chemical energy of a fuel into mechanical energy. This mechanical energy is utilized to drive the various applications such as agriculture, automobile, concrete mixer, sprayer pump.etc. In diesel engine there is vibration occurs due to various factors likes, reciprocal component, rotational component, unidirectional combustion forces, structural resonance etc. As per standard it is necessary to analyze and reduce the vibration level of diesel engine. This paper deals with experimental vibration testing of single cylinder diesel engine by using FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) & accelerometer.
