Title

A PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS OF RECTENNA FOR RF ENERGY HARVESTING IN UPCOMING SMART CITIES OF INDIA

Abstract

Smart City Mission is an urban renewal and retrofitting program by the Government of India with the mission to develop 100 cities across the country making them citizen friendly and sustainable. Worlds are looking for a renewable energy to replace current energy sources. Solar and wind renewable energy has been deployed for some years as one renewable energy in a few countries in a large scale. For a small scale renewable energy, the development of electromagnetic energy harvesting has good potential as one of the sources of renewable energy since the electromagnetic energy is available all the time and everywhere, unlike other renewable energy (e.g., solar, wind, thermal and ocean wave). The performance of rectenna is measured with the help of parameters like RF to DC power conversion efficiency (PCE) & sensitivity. A high efficient design of rectenna is needed as it can be used in various applications like, wireless power harvesting networks (WSN and IoT), Smart City, Medical & Healthcare, RFID and Smart Jewelry applications. This paper explains different parameters needed to be optimized which are used for improvement in PCE of Rectenna
