Title

VEHICLE TO VEHICLE WIRELESS COMMUNICATION: A STATE OF ART

Abstract

Driver support systems are meant to support drivers with driving process in order to avoid traffic accidents, speed up the traffic and have a higher control over the traffic in general. There are a lot of systems which give support to the drivers, such as adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, automatic parking, etc. Road and traffic safety can be improved if drivers have the ability to see further down the road and know if an accident has occurred, or if they are forthcoming a traffic jam. This can become possible if drivers and vehicles be in touch with each other and with roadside base stations. If road traffic information was provided to vehicle drivers, police, and other authorities, the roads would be safer and traveling on them would become well-organized. The purpose of this paper is to make a survey of the available open information and summarize it in a state-of-the-art document in wireless communication technology within vehicles, as well as between vehicles. A driver could be made aware of the emergency braking of a preceding vehicle or the presence of a hurdle in the road. It can also help vehicles negotiate critical points like blind crossings and entries to highways. This also provides future research direction that could be undertaken on the subject.
