The project deals with investigation of tribological and mechanical properties of Virgin PTFE and its composites under different loading conditions. The project focuses on comparative analysis of different variant of PTFE, with fillers such as glass fiber, MoS2 and Polyether ether ketone (PEEK). The experimental testing was carried out using Pin-on-disc test instrument so as to judge the tribological performance of PTFE and its composites under ambient conditions. Wear Analysis was also performed using finite element technique for establishing a comparison between the experimental and numerical computational data. The addition of fillers is found to increase hardness and wear resistance of the material. The highest wear rate was found in Virgin PTFE compared to the other two composites. The wear rate was found out by using analytical method (Archard’s equation). Observations were made for different variants of PTFE at different loading conditions and results were compiled for relative changes for wear rate and coefficient of friction.
