Human Resources play an important role in any field of organization. Retaining the efficient and hardworking employees is an important task for the organization. If employees feel motivated, then they would give their best performance which may also help organization to earn high profit and return. The aim of the study was to investigate the impact of compensation, benefits on among academic staff in higher education institutions”. There is paucity on research investigating specifically the relationship between compensation, benefits and job satisfaction within the higher education institutions nationally. Job Satisfaction refers to one’s satisfaction level towards his job and it can be calculated indirectly, by watching trends in employee turnover; and directly, by asking employees about their level of satisfaction via surveys, interviews, and focus groups. I took a sample of 204 respondents from the colleges of two different regions i.e. Kerala and Madhya Pradesh. The participation in survey was voluntary and confidentiality of responses was ensured.
