Title

The use of social media in Knowledge management of service sector

Abstract

Services sector is the largest sector of India. Gross Value Added (GVA) at current prices for Services sector is estimated at 92.26 lakh crore INR in 2018-19. Services sector accounts for 54.40% of total India's GVA of 169.61 lakh crore Indian rupees. Today service organizations offer tremendous potential for growth and profitability in the global economy. Development of knowledge management via social media can be one of the effective strategies to gain the importance in service sector. Effective and proper knowledge management process allows it to optimally use the present resources. Involvement of social media tools in developing knowledge management process is more helpful and beneficial for service sector as they can integrate online information into real life example. To the best of the authors’ knowledge, there are few papers that review the concept of knowledge management and social media in service sector. Hence, this study aims to critically analyze the various models and theories related to knowledge management and social media for service sector.
