Title

CO2 Emission: A Comparative Analysis of India and China

Abstract

Carbon dioxide (CO2), a trace gas, is the most important greenhouse gas in the atmosphere. The concentration of CO2 is rising day by day because of the rate of CO2 emission in the atmosphere is greater than the rate of its absorption which is creating an imbalance in the carbon cycle. The present study is an attempt to see CO2 emission from different sources such as Transportation, Electronics and Heat Production, Manufacturing Sector, Other Sectors and Residential Buildings & Commercial and Public Services in India and China. As these are the important sectors responsible for carbon emission and may have adverse effect on climate which directly effects agriculture, water availability and also health index. Secondary Data from World Bank has been collected and analyzed. Result shows that Carbon dioxide emission level in India is higher then the China due to transportation, electronic and heat production and other sectors. While manufacturing sector produces more CO2 emission in China.
