Title

Ultra-Reliable Low Latency Communication in 5G Technology for Aviation Telemedicine

Abstract

With a millions of passengers flying by air each year worldwide, many of them older, many traveling with greater frequency and on longer flights to more exotic locations. The management of health and safety problems in aircraft has become a main issue for the aviation industry. The count and seriousness of health problems on passenger flight are enormously increasing every year due to climate changes. Medical equipment carried on commercial flight is limited to these three items: a first-aid kit, an emergency medical kit and an automatic external defibrillator for emergency cardiac problems. This is a fine example for lower level of telemedicine support which is well established in past years. With the use of ICT solutions, such as wireless communication technology especially 5G, healthcare sectors can be more efficient in remote healthcare. URLLC is a new service category in 5G to accommodate trending services and applications having lower level of latency and reliability. It is a service category to support low latency-sensitive services such as autonomous driving, remote control and tactile Internet. As the telemedicine is going to implement in the aviation especially in passenger flights, we are going to choose 5G technology to establish the frequency of connectivity between ground hospital and patient. In this paper, we are going to discuss about URLLC services effectively established for the use of aviation telemedicine.
