Title

WHEELCHAIR CONTROL FOR PARTIAL PARALYSIS AND QUADRIPLEGIA PATIENTS VIA VOCAL FOLD VIBRATIONS

Abstract

This paper presents an economic solution for individuals with certain speech disability and motor impairment which the proposed system device works on picking up the vibrations from vocal folds to control a wheelchair.A powered wheelchair is one of the smart wheelchairs which are battery-powered, motorized versions of standard manual types. It leads to be the only option for those who require assistance at indoors to lead their routine. Here the piezo sensor is used to capture vibrations created and through this be able to control the electric wheelchair. For the data extraction and other processing units, the Arduino UNO is used. The upshot showed the system was flexible and implemented in a cost efficiency way so that if our project is commercialized, the needy users in developing countries would get benefited.
