In the modern world, education system is advancing day–by-day due to the introduction of concept of “classroom’’ or “examination hall” However, the attendance system still remains primitive ,where the teacher/lecturer calls the name of students to identify this systems also have been used in a wide variety of applications. Using face recognition based attendance marking system the camera/CCTV placed in the classroom will capture the image and detects faces in the image. The methods and the technologies which are involved with attendance management systems are used to understand by using the system development literature reviews.

Attendance Management system (AMS) Principal component Analysis (PCA), Linear Discriminant Analysis (LDA), Gabor, Mat lab, Raspberry pi, support vector machine, Viola-Jones algorithm.
