Distributed wireless pyroelectric infrared sensor network has gained in lot of interest with its best feature of low cost, easy deployment and better spatial coverage .It aims to make an alternate infrared video sensor and has wider applications in thermal biometrics for tracking and identifying human targets. In these applications, effectively processing signals collected from sensors and extracting the features of different human targets are necessary. This paper proposes an application based on Hilbert-Huang transform’s empirical mode decomposition method to extract features of moving human targets both in the time domain and the frequency domain. The experimental results proves that around 90% of multiple moving humans are targeted .
