Title

Performance of gas sensors of nanocrystalline thin films

Abstract

An attempt is made to focus on the gas sensors which are applicable and used in electronic systems for detection of toxic and harmful gases to date. Among the environmentally hazardous gases namely; NO2, CO2, NO, N2O, H2S, CO, NH3, CH4, SO2 the CO2; NO2 are the most dangerous gases in terms of Threshold Limit Value (TLV) of 3 ppm. Therefore the appropriate gas sensors have been investigated to measure the low concentration limit of each hazardous gas. Semiconducting metal oxides are the good candidates due to their low cost, high sensitivity, fast response, relatively simplicity of use and ability to detect a large number of gases.
