Abstract
In India agriculture plays a vital role in Indian Economy. Major contribution towards agriculture GDP is done by cotton. During harvesting time cotton requires excess labor and also manual picking will degrade the quality, so Automation is very much required for the better yield and also to preserve the quality of the cotton. This survey paper describes some of the methodologies where image processing techniques are used in cotton detection and identification.
