Title

EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION ON HEAT TRANSFER ENCHANCEMENT BY USING Al2O3 NANOFLUID IN A TUBE IN TUBE HEAT EXCHANGER

Abstract

Water is used as coolant or heat removing fluid in many industrial process. Water has good capacity of absorbing heat and considerably good rate. But recent development in technological process and high energy utilizing techniques demand even faster rate of absorbing heat and more heat carrying capacity. These properties of water can be enhanced adding Nano particles to water and making it a nanofluid Nano Fluids is a new kind of heat transfer medium, containing nanoparticles which are uniformly and stably distributed in a base fluid. They have been receiving great attention in recent years due to their potential usage, not only as an enhanced thermo physical heat transfer fluid but also because of their great importance in their applications. Our objective is to analyze the performance of double tube heat exchanger with the addition of Nano Particles to the distilled water and to determine the optimum range of combination of Nano particles where the convective heat transfer rate is maximum.
