Abstract

Lord Curzon’s contribution cannot be ignored in the Indian History. He had shown a great sensitivity and refinement in appreciating Indian ancient monuments. Hence he felt the utmost need to legalize the rules and regulation for conservation and preservation of Indian monuments. In this paper ‘Ancient Monument Preservation Act of 1904’ has been discussed in detail.
