Rotating machineries are the very important mechanical equipments which are mainly used in engines, turbine, compressor, generator , gearbox, blower etc. A rotor system is composed of a rotating shaft, disc and bearings. Rotor unbalance is one of the observed phenomenon in rotating machineries. . Unbalance is the condition when the mass centre and geometric centre of the disc are not coincident. Vibration signature monitoring is the best way to decide the machine condition and the fault analysis. In this paper vibration signature of the balancing and unbalancing of the rotor is obtained and analyzed with the help of accelerometer sensor and displacement sensor. The result shows that the amplitude of the peak obtained in unbalance condition is at the higher side than compared to the balance condition.
