One of the biggest problems faces by the world are the diseases caused by microorganisms, even the conditions are worsened due to the development of microbial resistant against numerous antimicrobial agents like quinolones, vancomycin, macrolides, tetracyclines, β-lactam antibiotics, etc. There are various techniques to overcomes these problems, one method is the proper utilization of marketed anti-microbials and the other is the synthesis of new antimicrobial compounds. Benzoxazoles have been considered as one of the most potent and biologically active class in medicinal chemistry. A wide variety of benzoxazole analogs have been synthesized so far and screened for their chemotherapeutic importance. This review is summarized to know about the chemistry of different benzoxazole derivatives in which benzoxazole ring is substituted with different moieties at different positions
