Title

Walking Intent Detection Using Electromyography

Abstract

Bio-signals are any physical, chemical, mechanical, thermal, electrical or magnetic quantities that contain information regarding health conditions in physiology and psychophysiology. Amongst these bio signals, the study would be focused on correlating some signals like electromyography (EMG) with the human locomotion like normal walk, treadmill walk, sit to stand and stand to sit. The experimental results were analyzed for the different subjects at the different positions. It is a valuable diagnostic tool in clinical gait analysis, as it gives the clinician an accurate representation of what the muscles are doing to contribute to the gait deviations observed.
