Title

Novel Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) Computation

Abstract

The computational complexity of any algorithm plays a vital role when implementing the algorithm in hardware and determines the overall performance. In consumer electronic devices (like video camera), a hardware component of processing unit takes up small dedicated area of silicon, indicating hardware implementation generally needs a less area and high speed. To achieve this total number of multiplications and additions are substantially reduced, which in turn reduces the hardware complexity. The computational complexity of the fast DWT has been reduced considerably using a new technique highly suitable for hardware implementation aspects are presented in this paper.
