In this modern era all the universities, colleges, schools are facing the problem of useless power consumption in class rooms by students. In addition to this the other factor which became head ache to all the teachers/professors is time consuming in manual attendance marking system. Although, some of the universities are managing the attendance of the students by using RFID based attendance marking system, but still in a class of 150 students this process may takes a minimum of 10-15 minutes to mark the attendance. This paper presents a model to solve these problems by using Image Processing Techniques.
