This review discuss in detail about the soft body armors. The methods of preparing shear thickening fluids and the concentration of STF in the colloidal solution and effect of concentration on impact absorption, spike resistance and inter yarn friction of Kevlar fiber impregnated with these STFs.This review focus on technologies used for preparingSTF, the parameter like particle shape, particle size, scientific principles and theories, layer orientation of Kevlar impregnated with the STF. Consequently this review offers a complete range discussion for manufacturing of liquid body armors and their enhanced performance against spikes and projectiles.
