The rapid growth of urban population to the entire population is contributing to the world's rapid urbanization. By 2020, a substantial population will be residing in cities, and these urban areas provide the potential for accelerated economic development as the main driving forces of this population. A significant concern about the effect of urbanization on mental health, in particular the disadvantaged parts of society the elderly, women, children and adolescents. Rapid urbanization has led to a hand-to-mouth fringe of the population that further contributes to the poverty issue. Mental health and poverty are linked in a dynamic way where one condition contributes to the other
