Abstract: Nanotechnology, which includes use of nanoparticles i.e. the particles that have a size of 1-100nm in one or more dimensions, is taking over various industries. Nanoparticles are being extensively used for different purposes, such as in making fluorescent labels, in drug and gene systems, in detection of pathogens and proteins, in tissue engineering, in tumor destruction and in phagokinetic studies. Though there are natural nanoparticles present in the environment, engineered nanoparticles are being widely used. These engineered nanoparticles are different from the natural nanoparticles and may impart varied effects when they come in contact with living cells. In the current scenario, there are thousands of documents available on the synthesis of silver nanoparticles by phyto-extracts and toxicities due to fabricated nanoparticles. In this mini review, we tried to consider some common toxicities cause by silver nanoparticles manufactured using plant extract.
