Abstract: Hemiptera is a very diverse order which includes total 37 families and 80,000 species. In agriculture, hemipteran insects are highly destructive because the majority of insects are highly destructive and considered as a pest. Mealy bug is the serious pest of agricultural crops. It causes massive destruction to the field crops. In worldwide, total 158 species of mealy buds were recognized. These 158 species were originated in the different regions of the world. Total 22% species are polyphagus in the nature. Hibiscus mealy bug (Mocanellicoccus hirsutus) is the destructive mealybug species of various ornamental plants. Chemical control is the most common tactic used against the Mealy bug species. But due to the overuse of pesticides, the mealy bug becomes resistance against the pesticides. Insecticidal resistance is the genetic ability of pest to survive against the pesticide application. Mealy bug species were developed resistance against the commonly used pesticides i.e. chloropyrifos, DDT, Parathion because of their extensive use. So, the present research was to analyze the best conventional pesticide to control the Mealy bug population and which helps in the protection of crop from the pest damage.
