Title

Role of Plant Growth Regulators in Abiotic Stress Tolerance

Abstract

Productivity of plants is highly affected by a widespread variety of environmental stresses such as low and high temperatures, drought, salinity, and heavy metal stress. These abiotic stresses usually cause several complex biochemical, physiological and molecular variations in plants. Plant growth regulators (PGRs) are organic compounds other than nutrients which control various phases of plant growth and development. PGRs play a crucial character in the mitigating these abiotic stress conditions by acting as secondary stress messengers. In this review, we focused on the potential role of different plant growth regulators on plant responses to various abiotic stresses.
