Title
Biological and Therapeutic values of Propolis
Abstract
Human civilization has a long history of bee domestication and has harnessed all its products like honey, wax, bee venom and propolis. Propolis is considered as a folk medicine since ancient times and has been known to possess a wide range of biological and therapeutic properties. Propolis has a broad spectrum of compounds that have utilitarian value in the cure of varied pathological conditions. Propolis is a resinous mixture prepared by honey bees by mixing exudates of plants or buds with enzymes present in saliva with pollen and wax.
