Title

Phytotoxic effect of Lantana camara on the physiology of Oryza sativa

Abstract

Allelopathy can be considered as a natural bio-herbicide phenomenon as it helps in increasing the yield, production of crops, vegetables growth. It is natural phenomenon which does not have any harmful effect on the environment as the chemical and synthetic chemicals and fertilizers have as they provide short term positive results but after a span of time damages the soil fertility. A study was designed to evaluate the effects of Lantana camara on the germination of Oryza sativa seeds. It was concluded that the different concentration of Lantana extracts had inhibitory effect on the germination capacity of Oryza seeds.
