Title

Bioremediation Of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (Pah) By Microbial Cells

Abstract

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, which refers to universal ecological contaminations due to their carcinogenic activity and its bioaccumulation capacity. These substances have their access in the environment through fragmented burning of organic materials such as petrol, coal and wood. They are present in encompassing air in vapour phase and act as a dessert to vaporizers. Environmental apportioning of mixtures containing PAH between the vapour and particle phase emphatically impact the fate and route of entry of PAH in the human body. Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons are responsible for causing cancer and mutation. Contamination due to PAHs should have expelled by applying various innovative remediation technology. Bioremediation is one of the demonstrating specific guarantee as a protective and worthwhile choice. Notwithstanding their toxic properties, an assortment of microbial diversity of fungi, algae and bacteria have been portrayed for their capacity to uptake PAHs from the contaminated sites. Immobilization technology has been applied to these microbial cells for their better recovery and reusable capacity.
