Title

Gamified Instructions As A Catalyst For High Academic Performance

Abstract

Many factors have been disclosed as causes of students’ poor academic performance at different levels of education. One of these factors is adoption of ineffective teaching and learning methods. Gamification of learning or the application of game design elements to non-game activities like education has gained popularity on the basis of its potential to enhance student engagement. This approach has the potential to teach important skills such as problem-solving, collaboration, and communication besides enhancing knowledge. If winning learners’ attention and interest during learning and teaching process in the classroom is the priority of the teacher, then the modern technological teaching method should be gamification. This paper will unveil how gamification of teaching – learning process wins students attention, makes learning interesting, participative, and enhances good academic performance.
