Green Revolution was a phase during 1960s, when the production in agriculture increased worldwide. The agricultural productivity significantly increased because of the introduction of varieties which are high yielding and techniques for the better management of crops. First green revolution boosted crop yield of wheat and rice by introducing dwarf genotype in developing nations of the world. Now, we need second green revolution in infertile soil with little access to fertilizers to improve the productivity and sustainability of low- input agro climate region. Due to over population and lack of interest in agriculture India has decline growth rate about 3.6% during 1985-1995 and less than 2% in the decade 1995-2005. This is against the targeted annual growth of 4% for the agriculture sector to 2020.
