this paper presents a process to make the image useful. edge detection is a kind of image- segmentation process and image-segmentation is one of the preprocessingstepsinImageProcessing. Itisusedinmany places such as the detection of an object tiling on the line of sight, the extraction of damaged videos, enhancing the images it can be recognized well by adjusting the light and dark areas etc.There arevarietyofimagedetection algorithms, for example, Sobel EdgeDetection, PrewittEdgeDetection, RobertsEdgeDetection, CannyEdge Detection etc.butthisresearchpaperwillfocusonCanny EdgeDetectionalgorithmasitovercomestheshortcomings of other very popular edge-detection algorithm called as SobelEdgeDetectionalgorithm and how we can user he technique forprecisedetection ofobstacles asitisavery importantpartforourrobotsystemshouldinclude.
