Title

Circular Monopole Antenna Embedded In Negative Indexed Material

Abstract

This paper presenting the design about a circular monopole antenna. A CPW feeding technique has been implemented to get the result. In addition, split ring resonator (SRR) are involved in the design to achieve ultra wideband. The presence of SRR are responsible to fetch notches in UWB performance. This is just possible by inculcating the CPW feed and properly positioning SRR pairs along the line where excitation is provided to the structure. Here three circular SRR with different dimensions are placed symmetrically along the feed line and S11 parameter is studied in the range of 1GHz to 13 GHz. Split ring resonator pairs are normally inductively coupled to the radiating element which is simply an circular monopole antenna and loaded on the back side of the CPW line. The SRR nearer to feeding point is assumed to be SRR1, are placed at middle and the one which is closest to the patch is named as SRR3. It is seen that the radiating element showing an UWB characteristics that is obtained from 1.6 to 13.4 GHz approximately. Here when SRR are came to action the UWB result is being modified to notches at different frequencies. The results what is seen here conforms/validates that the proposed antenna not only retains an ultra wide band but it has also produce the band rejection characteristics just by including negative indexed material to avoid interference with existing wireless service available. Though, simulations for different SRR structures are made, result for Structure of the monopole patch antenna with one pair of SRR corresponding to frequency range 1 to 13 GHz is shown in this work.
