For centuries the earth has witnessed changes in its geophysical as well as biological composition. While these changes were as normal as the phenomenon of change observed in nature, the cause of concern really lies in the fact that certain changes have taken place at an alarming pace in the past few decades. Although the world community has shown concern towards preserving the biodiversity of our planet, yet the steps taken so far have not been implemented to the extent required. Climate change is a natural phenomenon and has various factors leading to it but the role of human activities like emission of harmful gases and interference with the nature have resulted in global warming. It is this issue at hand which needs to be addressed as soon as possible. This article intends to present the aspects of climate change in the simplest manner for a common man to understand and further tends to create awareness towards the eminent threat it poses to us along with analyzing carefully the risks at stake. The author himself is an environmentalist at heart and feels genuinely towards the cause.
