Title

Effect of Control Parameters in WEDM on MRR of Al6063 using Response Surface Methodology”

Abstract

Aluminium 6063 is perhaps the most widely used because of its Extrudability.WEDM is a specialized machining process capable of accurately machining parts with varying hardness, complex shapes, which have sharp edges that are difficult to machine using mainstream machining processes. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of parameters on cutting rate for WEDM using aluminium alloy 6063 as workpiece and brass wire as electrode. This alloy is used in pipe and tubing industries and also used in ship and aerospace industries. Aluminium alloys are usually 20 to 30% lighter steel alloy. The central composite rotatable design has been used to conduct the experiments. The analysis of results indicates that the pulse on time, pulse off time, servo voltage and wire feed have a significant effect on Material Removal Rate. it has been investigate in this study that with the increase of pulse on time material removal rate also increase due to increase of spark erosion as and when suppy of Ton is increased.and there is decrease in material removal rate by decreasing the Toff time. Various plots and graph are drawn using RSM technology and discussed in the section below.”
